TOA Kickboxing Coach (Kids & Adults)

Having always been very active, I fell in love with the challenge that martial arts presented at a young age. With so many challenging things to work on from both a physical and mental aspect, I knew I’d found a sport I could dedicate myself to and never grow tired, bored or uninspired by. I have met many of my best friends through the sport as there is a large team aspect where you form very close bonds with training partners and coaches as you all strive to improve. I’ve competed in the UK, Holland and NZ in kick boxing with the Dutch format of kickboxing making up the basis of my particular style.

I’m really excited by being given the opportunity to be a part of the coaching staff at Toa Martial Arts. I enjoy helping people try to achieve their goals, learn, gain confidence and push themselves to go on and achieve more and T.M.A is the perfect environment for me to be able to give back to the community in this way.

Born and raised in Auckland, like many others my family took summer vacations in Whitianga. From a young age, I decided that when the time was right Whitianga would be where I would relocate to too enjoy the beach and pace of life that simply can’t be found living in the city.

Fave Exercise: Any multi strike combo drill (the more technical the better) and any strength and conditioning exercises improving/training components of speed and power.

Fave Move: Toss-up between, Superman jab into lead leg chop vs Switch stance question mark into left cross…I like both and can’t choose between the two.

Fave Food: Pizza, Ice Cream, Chocolate…. Which I only eat once every six weeks (Got that discipline from Martial Arts).
